FAQS

HAVE A QUESTION?
CHANCES ARE SOMEONE’S ALREADY ASKED IT.

Why should I use Direct Care Staffing?

Staff shortages are frustrating, costly and could put your facility at risk of low staff to patient ratios and a loss of trust. Hiring a replacement can take months. But Direct Care Staffing can turn months into minutes by connecting you with a highly qualified healthcare professional at a moment’s notice. One call is all it takes to find the right candidate fast. And we do it 24/7, 365 days a year.

What positions do you staff?

We staff caregivers, CNAs, nurses and other direct care personnel.

What type of contracts do you staff?

We staff temporary, permanent, regular and supplemental roles. We provide whatever your organization needs.

What type of healthcare providers do you staff?

We staff these healthcare facilities and more: assisted and independent living facilities, clinics, home health agencies, hospitals, nursing homes, hospice agencies and facilities, private duty agencies, retirement community centers, schools and wherever your clients reside.

Are your healthcare professionals licensed?

Absolutely. Our staff members are bonded, insured and always arrive up-to-date on certifications, vaccinations and the details they need to navigate the shift.

How do you screen candidates?

Before being hired by Direct Care Staffing, all candidates go through an in-depth interview and drug screening process to verify their skills, experience, licensing and certification in accordance with state law and requirements in §97.247.

  • Criminal background check
  • Drug screening
  • TB screening
  • Hepatitis B vaccination
  • Bloodborne pathogen training
  • Current CPR certification
Once placed, do I need to keep track of licensing and continuing education?

No. We handle everything for you. Each employee’s background and license status is monitored while on our staff. We also provide continuing education courses, training and vaccinations at no cost you.

Why should I work for Direct Care Staffing instead of a facility or hospital?

When you work for Direct Care Staffing, you never have to worry about someone else controlling your schedule again. You choose which shifts you work and which shifts you don’t. As a valued member of our team, you will also earn premium pay and gain access to a full benefits plan.

What qualifications do I need to meet to get hired?

We require at least one year of professional experience in the healthcare field. We also ask that you provide a valid professional certification or license and proof of the right to work in the United States.

If you have less than one year of experience, don’t worry. Our ongoing partnership with Heaven at Home allows new CNAs to earn their first year of experience in a professional setting. To learn more visit Heaven at Home.

How much will I earn?

We offer some of the most competitive rates in our market. The amount you earn depends on several factors including the facility, the shift, the length of contract and how often you choose to work.

How often will I get paid?

We pay weekly and offer direct deposit to all of our employees.

How often do I have to be available?

As often as you’d like, but we do require all employees carry a minimum availability of 24 hours per week.

How do I schedule myself for available shifts?

Once you become active, a staffing coordinator will call to let you know what shifts are available. All you have to do is accept them.

How long is a typical shift?

Shifts vary depending on what area you choose to work in. The majority of our shifts are 8 or 12 hours.

What if I don’t like my assignment?

If you are not happy with an assignment, let your staffing coordinator know and we will try our best to correct it or place you somewhere that is a better fit.

What if I need help after business hours?

Direct Care Staffing has a supervisor on call 24/7, 365 days a year. We are always here for you, no matter what time you call.

What is my tax status with the IRS?

When you work with Direct Care Staffing, you are a real part of our team, not an independent contractor. This means taxes are withheld from your check and you receive a W-2 at the end of the year.
